NAME CHANGE

We believe that there will be a time where inclusive, diverse and accessible community led cycling groups are the norm, not the exception. We commit to doing what we can to making this a reality.

Our rides are for femmes, trans, women and non-binary folks and everyone else who wants to uplift themselves outside of the patriarchy. ✌️

On the 14th of May, 2021, we changed our name from “The Women’s New Forest Off Road Club” to “The New Forest Off Road Club”. Not only was the former an absolute mouthful, we wanted to realised that the gentle, community centered space we’d carved out would be benefical to anyone with a desire to ride bikes with people who would allow them to be their most authentic selves. 

As we enter 2024, we’re gonna sack off “Women led” when we introduce ourselves. Much for the same reasons as the above, we reckon it’s more powerful to feel that some thing is different as opposed to being told it.

Also, again, we now know that there is going to be a time that inclusive, diverse, accesable community led cycling spaces are the norm, not the exception.

We know we’re biased but we stand by the fact that women are best placed to make this a reality.
